My First EP

August 14th 2015
Wayne Hamilton

In October of 2013, guitar wizard Doug Millaway and I were paired up when our names were pulled from a hat for a co-writing exercise with the Minnesota Association of Songwriters. We had until late January to come up with a song to be presented to the group. We admittedly procrastinated until December 1st. But once we got started, we had so much fun that we co-wrote TWO songs before the January deadline.

Those two songs and three others are on a 5-song disc titled Smallest Sign that was released August 11, 2015. Doug did most of the instrumental production work, while I lent a hand with the singing, song structure and lyric writing. Both of us pitched in on melodies; Doug contributed songs with existing melodies (that I modified to fit revised lyrics) and the title track with no melody, which I wound up writing.

So just eight months since my last release (You Never Knew), I have a new, albeit smaller, collection to offer. Doug has consented to work with me onstage OUTSIDE the studio, and we're having a great time!

Meanwhile, I'm already beginning work on another EP with half a dozen different co-writers! This one might be ready by the end of this year, but reality might dictate an early 2016 release...we'll see.

As always, thanks so much for your support!
