St. Paul, Minn., October 1, 2001 – Just Plain Folks (JPF), a grass-roots networking organization for musicians, has nominated Lucky That Way as Traditional Folk CD and Song of the Year in its 2001 Music Awards. The song is the title track on Wayne Hamilton’s CD, released in 2000. The JPF 2001 Music Award ceremonies will take place on Saturday, November 17 at the Space 6507 Club in Hollywood, California. Hamilton will attend the ceremonies. He will also perform at a showcase of nominees on November 16 in Hermosa Beach, Calif.
More than 2,400 CDs were considered as CD of the Year. Of that number, 226 CDs were nominated in 28 music genres. Song of the year nominees were selected from 35,000 songs in 30 genres. The resulting 530 song nominees were submitted by members from 17 countries and 43 US states. |
