"SIXTY ONE" SELECTED AS FIRST SONG ON FESTIVAL COMPILATION CD |
| St. Paul, Minn., December 19, 2002 – "Sixty One," a new song by Wayne Hamilton, has been selected as the first cut on a compilation CD by the organizers of the
2002 Highway 61 Folks Festival, in which Hamilton appeared last August. The initial festival occurred in Mahtowa, Minnesota, near Duluth, with performers from all over the Midwest. Hamilton’s song was written for the event and first performed there. Hamilton, a Twin Cities-based songwriter, has been performing in the Upper Midwest since 1996. Prior to his move to the Twin Cities, Hamilton performed in situations ranging from studios to solo house concerts to musical theater to club shows with rock, R&B and Pop bands in the mid-Atlantic region. His CD, Lucky That Way, has been heard on radio stations in the US, Canada, UK, Northern and Western Europe and Australia. The Internet URL for Hamilton’s music is www.waynehamilton.com.
